An ambitious redevelopment project in North Knoxville will be open for tours on Tuesday evening.
The Urban Land Institute is hosting a project tour of Oakwood Senior Living, at 232 E. Churchwell Avenue, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Oakwood is a project of Dover Development, which is converting the former elementary school — which was built in 1914 — into an assisted living facility with a specialty wing for patients with Alzheimer’s and other memory problems. The project represents a $6.5 million investment.
The tour is free, but space is limited to 100 guests. To register, visit the ULI web site.
The ULI’s goal is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide.
