A planned expansion of the Boys and Girls Club’s Caswell Ave. campus is on this week’s MPC agenda.
In November, the agency announced a $14 million capital campaign for a new main facility at its site in North Knoxville.
According to the MPC summary, the project includes a new two-story structure with two gyms, a swimming pool and activities rooms on the first floor. The second floor will be administrative space.
Matt Chambers, of Johnson & Galyon, said the new facility will be adjacent to the Haslam Family Club, which was finished in 2008. The existing Gene Monday Gym and a brick building adjacent to the Haslam Center will be demolished as part of the project.
