A national expert in financing for historic preservation projects will be in town this month, in connection with an effort by Knox Heritage to encourage more preservation investment.
John Leith-Tetrault, president of the National Trust Community Investment Corporation, will speak on March 12 during a workshop at Historic Westwood, 3425 Kingston Pike.
The organization is hoping to work with the NTCIC to create a program that connects regional investors with preservation projects across East Tennessee. Specifically, they would invest in Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits used by developers on preservation projects.
In addition to founding the NTCIC, Leith-Tetrault has worked in community development financing with organizations including Bank of America and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
The event will be held from 10 a. m. to 12 p.m. on March 12. For more information, contact Todd Morgan, of Knox Heritage, at 865-685-5958.
